Austria Connect Conference 2009 in Atlanta
The second conference for Austrian business subsidiaries organized by Austrian Trade Commissions in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles was held on September 26, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia.
As Austrian Trade Commissioner Christian Kesberg confirmed in his closing remarks at the successful second Austria Connect Conference 2009, “Austrian business subsidiaries in the U.S. are indeed affected by the current economic crisis, but they still stand firm. Our companies, mostly in the high-tech sector, have generated enough capital to have considerable advantage over many of their American competitors and are prepared to ride out long-lasting storms, taking advantage of weaker competition once the crisis has passed.“
Talks given by renowned political and economic experts, such as U.S. Senator from Georgia John Isakson and highly reputable economist Jeffrey Rosensweig, attracted close to one hundred participants, including Austrian Ambassador to the United States Christian Prosl, President of Kapsch TrafficCom Erwin Toplak and CEO of Miba Group Wolfgang Litzlbauer. The undisputed rewards of the conference, however, was the opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas with fellow Austrian CEOs of firms throughout the United States.
