Eric Kandel at Adas Israel

On October 20, 2012, people gathered at Adas Israel synagogue in Washington, D.C. to listen to Nobel Prize-winner Eric Kandel discuss his newest book, The Age of Insight: The Quest to Understand the Unconscious in Art, Mind, and Brain, from Vienna 1900 to the Present withrenowed The New York Times columnist David Brooks.

During his lecture, Kandel presented theories and practices of neuroscience, art and psychology to show how people's creative brains perceive and engage art. The evening was part of the Hyma S. & Freda Bernstein Jewish Literary Festival, organized by the Washington DC Jewish Community Center. The lecture was followed by a reception, which also included a book signing.
