In 1994 Vienna’s famous Austrian Museum of Applied Arts (MAK) extended its reach abroad by creating the MAK Center for Art and Architecture in Los Angeles. With a recently launched fellowship program focusing on urban issues, the MAK Center Los Angeles has expanded its very renowned international stipend program, providing the opportunity for architects and artists to spend a six-month residency in Los Angeles living and working in one of the architectural landmarks designed by Austrian architect Rudolph Schindler.
Influenced by his Viennese background, real estate developer Anthony Lanier created an urban environment revitalizing the historic district of Georgetown. In an interview with  Austrian Information he spoke about the beginnings of his career, the challenges of urban revitalization and projects for the future.
Founded by Austrian Markus Wagner, the company i5invest, which is run by a group of young Austrians with strong expertise in launching successful internet start-ups, offers its services by evaluating ideas that have the most potential for becoming solid ventures and developing them into lucrative business models.
