Launch of "Taste of Austria" and Fancy Food Celebration

In the framework of the Fancy Food Show, the Austrian Trade Commission office in New York hosted a special cocktail reception themed “AUSTRIA. IN GOOD TASTE” at Café Katja in downtown Manhattan during which local Austrian products, brands and businesses were presented to an exclusive audience of about 100 media representatives. As part of this evening event, the Austrian Press and Information Service launched its brand-new website  TASTE OF AUSTRIA . The website features information about the Austrian food culture, recipes and "where to find Austrian food & beverages" in the U.S.

Apart from Austria's cuisine there was one more reason to celebrate: Stoeger Seed Oils was the first Austrian producer to take home the prestigious sofi™ Award. The 41st sofi awards, from the Specialty Food Association, were presented at a red-carpet ceremony hosted by internationally-acclaimed chef Marcus Samuelsson at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York on July 1, 2013.Stoeger Cherry Seed Oil won the Golden Award in the Outstanding Oil categroy. The oil is made from pure cherry seeds that are slowly roasted and cold-pressed. A sofi Award is the top honor in the $86 billion specialty food industry. “sofi” stands for Specialty Outstanding Food Innovation.
