Decoration for Professor Thomas Sculco

Ambassador Hans Peter Manz presented Professor Thomas Sculco with the Austrian Decoration  for Science and Art, First Class on February 28, 2013 in New York City.

Professor Sculco is Surgeon-in-Chief and Korein-Wilson Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the Hospital of Special Surgery in New York City and a Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College.

Professor Sulco has made significant contributions to the bilateral relationship between the United States and Austria by enabling the Salzburg Weill Cornell seminars. These seminars, which build on programming by the American Austrian Foundation, aim to build international networks between Austrian and American medical establishments, as well as between states in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, the Middle East and Asia.

Furthermore, Professor Sulco enabled an exchange program for senior residents between the Hospital of Special Surgery and Orthopedic Clinic of Salzburg.
