New Book - World Film Locations: Vienna

Edited by Robert Dassanowsky, Professor of German and Film Studies at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and head of the Los Angeles/Vienna based Belvedere Film Production Company, World Film Locations Vienna sheds new light on the movies shot in the Austrian capital – and on the city itself.

In addition to key scene reviews of 46 international movies from the silent era to the present, the book covers such wide-ranging topics as the Austro-Hungarian Empire as cinematic myth, the “Viennese film” and Golden Age Hollywood and the startling “New Vienna” theme in contemporary movies. In the US the book is distributed by the University of Chicago Press and will be released in September. The edition is part of the World Film Location Series.
